The Story of The Yquem Marcs
The Yquem Marcs are a strong, natural fertilizer composed of the grape seeds and grape skin that remain after the grapes are pressed at the unparalleled Chateau d’Yquem vineyard in Bordeaux, France.
The best, most effective Marcs are obtained only after three full grape pressings, when the grape juice is completely removed an’Yquem discovered that these marcs have unsurpassed natural fertilizing power and began spreading them on the young Yquem vines each season to help restore the soil’s fertility and initiate the vineyard’s new life cycle.
Dior Science has studied the secrets of the Yquem vine for over 30 years and first became interested in the incredible fertilizing power of the Yquem Marcs several years ago, when they began researching and developing a new kind of technology that would allow them to transfer these incredible regenerative powers to the skin. The technology was finalized in 2013, which was coincidentally an exceptional year for the Yquem vine, thanks to ideal climate conditions, allowing for the first production of La Cure. At this point, there is only a possibility that Dior will develop a new vintage of La Cure as they must first wait for the Marcs to meet expectations in 2014 and the current climate conditions are satisfying but could change at any moment. As a result, the next vintage of La Cure could be 2014 or many years from now.
A Breakthrough New Extraction Process
In order to extract the Marcs’ entire molecular structure, Dior Science created a patented flash extraction technology that takes only 15 to 30 minutes and combines multiple new state-of-the-art technologies including micro-grinding, which helps to obtain smaller parts of the Marcs, micro-waves, which helps activate molecules and facilitate the extraction and micro-filtration, which helps obtain the absolute purest possible form of the Marcs extract.
Enriched with pure Yquem sap essence and Yquem Marc Extract, La Cure offers skin the greatest concentration of active ingredients (over 40 percent) ever developed by Dior and is designed to be used for three months as a boost in the daily L’Or de Vie skincare regimen. Just three months of using La Cure provides up to six months of benefits. La Cure is sold as a set of three separate, sealed vials to protect the product’s efficacy during use.
