It’s piCture pOlish Thursday, and today I have for you another stunning Ozotic, one of the Beam polishes, #907!

Ozotic Beam is a collection of 4 gorgeous top coat-type polishes, “inspired by ‘reflecting luminous light beams’ hence the moonlight colours,” that at first glance all look similar:  white glass flecks with different shades of reflection in each polish. The Beam polishes can be worn alone or over black for an exploding effect “on your nail, reinventing itself to light changing crystals – simply amazing! A magical transformation in appearance that you need to see to believe!” from the piCture pOlish store’s description. : )  And 907 is described as having green and blue sparks, though I also see violet reflections in this beauty!

You want to know what I decided to layer this over? I decided to live on the edge a little and go with a gorgeous, summery shade from Nubar’s new My Sweet Escape collection. Nubar’s Jaded is a light turquoise, the colour of the ocean on a hot summer’s day…

And Ozotic Beam 907 did not disappoint!! It truly exploded in a three-dimensional effect on my nails, sparkling softly, the glass flecks dancing both in the sun and out. All this at just one coat over 2 coats of Nubar Jaded:

I love how beautiful the effect is, even over a lighter polish!! This to me, is a perfect summer manicure!

Look at that shine! And that deep, multichromatic shimmer really makes this manicure look like the sea….

Do you love this as much as I do? I am utterly obsessed with Jaded and 907 together! And what should I layer this over next….?

Today I bring you a few more of the OPI Mariah Carey polishes, a fantastic collaboration with the Diva herself! My first review of this collection for Can’t Let Go, one of the new Liquid Sand™ shades that OPI debuted polishes with Mariah Carey’s launch, can be seen here!

Another Liquid Sand™ shade from the Stage Shades part of this collection is The Impossible, which contains the same matte sand-like textured finish infused with reflective sparkle, as Can’t Let Go, but this time in a gorgeous bright reddish-fuchsia base. The base is actually a jelly finish and builds up from a sheer first coat to a nice, even bright and blue-based red. I love that this polish has star confetti – too cute! The only trouble was actually catching any of the stars (which are larger pieces) on your brush… I had to dig a little to get any on my nail. Here are 2 generous coats on my nails (see my previous review to learn about the drying time):

Isn’t that pretty? I was surprised by how much I adored this colour!

Now look at The Impossible with a shiny finish:

OPI_MC_TheImpossibleShinyHow AMAZING does that look??

As I mentioned before though, get ready to layer on the top coat, because this is a huge top coat-eater. Which look do you prefer, matte or shiny?

The next polish from the Mariah Carey for OPI collection that I have for you is Sprung, more of a “regular” polish – a shimmery copper beauty! Sprung is part of the Studio Shades quartet, and is a deep reddish copper containing tiny gold, copper and rose shimmers for a complex and very sparkly glass-fleck finish. I did not think I’d love this colour so much, but it is perfection, and one of those rare colours that will suit a huge range of skintones. Not only that, but it’s perfectly every-day and office-appropriate.

Here are three thin coats, as this polish tends to be a little on the thin side:

I decided to spruce this polish up a little by adding some gold glitter, courtesy of the new OPI collection for Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful. Here is a little gradient with When Monkeys Fly:

I have to admit, when I first saw the press release for the OPI Oz collection, I couldn’t wait to see When Monkeys Fly, because it not only has large gold hex glitter, but also tiny holographic glitter pieces in a clear base. Unfortunately though the large glitters are rounded and three-dimensional, making it difficult to lay them flat on the nail using just the brush. It’s still a gorgeous glitter, but probably needs tweezers to flatten the gold pieces. 🙂

Happy Sunday!

Today I have you for you a few gorgeous La Femme polishes, another untried brand for me. These polishes were stunning, especially the holos. They are spectacular!

I’ve been on a bit of a purple kick lately, so here is beautiful Delicada, described as a delicate lilac linear holographic. It is so pretty and delicate, indeed.

Two coats over basecoat in natural daylight:

I love the shine!!

And two coats with flash:

Look at that holo sparkle! This polish is subdued with a gorgeous hint of lilac, but the light makes it come alive with brilliance!

Another neutral beauty is La Femme Natural, a spectacular silver linear holographic. What I loved about this polish was that although it looks very silver in the bottle, it’s actually quite subtle, and not an in-your-face silver.

Here are two coats over basecoat in the sun. I think this is my favourite of the holos!!

And here it is with flash. Flash brings out the silver of this beauty:

The third polish I have for you today is Valiosa, described as a mint green linear holographic, though I would describe it as more of a pistachio polish. It is a light green with a warm undercurrent…

Two coats over basecoat, in full sun:

The final holographic La Femme polish I have for you is Preciosa, described as a Robin’s egg blue linear holographic, a perfect description of this icy cool-blue hue.

Here it is with 2 coats, no topcoat. You can see a hint of the linear holographic even without direct light:

And check out the intense holo in a photo with flash:

Which do you like best?

I’ve gotta admit:

I am CRAZY for the Muppets. Collection by OPI, that is.

Here is beautiful Wocka Wocka. A stunning red that is on the cool side… it almost has a raspberry tone to it.

Application was smooth–the consistency was just thin enough to dry quickly but that means it requires at least two coats. It reflects a beautiful shimmer to it in certain light.

Wocka Wocka has quickly become one of my fave reds. I’m not sure what I’ll do when it runs out!

Who else has tried the Muppets collection?

Don’t mind my slightly shoddy job in this pic 😉
