Hello July, hello summer!
If you follow me on social, you’ve probably seen the previews of my summer collection… it has been busy and creativity has been on a high!
I’m sure by now you’ve seen my June Camisole knitting pattern… at some point I decided I wanted an empire waist version of it… and is it ever beautiful (if I do say so myself)!
Introducing the June Empire Top!!
Crafted in-the-round, seamlessly, and dare I say, mostly mindlessly… the June Empire Top works up really quickly due to its worsted yarn and stockinette stitches. I do not like seaming lol. Actually, it’s not that I don’t like seaming; it requires a different kind of mindset where I like to do it peacefully, and that is hard to achieve in a home with kids and pets (and a husband 😂)! The empire shape is extremely forgiving, making this the perfect top for those summer BBQs full of food! The top is shaped in a sweetheart/v neckline just like its sister pattern, the June Camisole. And this time, I made the i-cord straps wide so that they can cover all kinds of bra straps! 😉
This top is the perfect blend of polished and casual. Pair with jeans, pair it with a cute little tight skirt… it is adorable!
The colour I used was Flamingo from KnitPicks Comfy Worsted yarn line – one of my faves! Is it not a gorgeous soft pink??
If you order your Comfy Worsted yarn now (which, by the way, is on sale over at KnitPicks!!), you will still have plenty of time to finish and wear this beauty this summer (if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere like me)! Or… as a lovely follower from Australia told me, it’s a good time to knit this now to have it ready for the Australian summer!
What colour will you make your June Empire Top in?
(I think I need one in Planetarium or Seafoam…)
Remember to share your makes on social with me using #JuneEmpireTop ! Can’t wait to see your makes!
