Much like with beauty blogging, where there is palpable excitement around a new launch, we crafters go crazy for new yarn! Whether it’s a new yarn or new colour range… it’s so exciting!
And we have a brand-new yarn to talk about! KnitPicks recently launched a brand new yarn called High Desert, a 100% American grown and spun wool. Made from Merino and Merino/Rambouillet wool from Shaniko Wool Company, High Desert is processed in South Carolina, dyed and milled in North Carolina, and comes in an earthy jewel-toned spectrum of 12 beautiful colours inspired by the landscape and skyline of Oregon’s high desert. This is a smooth, rounded yarn with a soft hand. It is extremely soft, surprisingly so, and is available in both sport and worsted weights. I am usually hesitant to use 100% wool because it can be bothersome for me, but High Desert is incredibly smooth and soft. I cannot wait to make something! I have a striped sweater or cardigan in mind… High Desert is available at KnitPicks.com, $18.99 / 100g skein.
Get your own from KnitPicks… or, better yet, WIN SOME! Head over to my Instagram where you can enter to win six skeins of High Desert Yarn along with a Sunstruck Options Interchangeable Circular Set!!
