For many of us celebrating the holiday season, this is a time of great panic as we rush to get the perfect gifts and prepare for our celebrations. Add to that the amazing skill of being a maker, and many of us want to hand-make a gift for our loved ones.
You’ve come to the right place! If you like quick knits and thick yarn, look no further!
I was recently playing around with KnitPicks’s Super Bulky Tuff Puff yarn, a 100% wool yarn that is thick and squishy, when I realized it would make the perfect trivet or potholder. Natural materials like wool are great for trivets and potholders, and the ultra-thick yarn makes it work up quickly. This beautiful stitch is a very simple play on the garter stitch — which means no purls in this project! All knits and a few slipped stitches! And the loop to hang it with is totally optional… meaning if you plan on using this and putting it back in the drawer, and not hanging it, you can skip creating the loop.
I can’t wait for the rest of my Tuff Puff yarn to arrive so I can make a few more colours as gifts. Tuff Puff comes in an amazing range of brights and neutrals – there is something for everyone!
Hope you enjoy my gift to you this holiday season, this FREE knitting pattern!
