Today I have a couple of beauties from Pomegranate Nail Lacquer’s spring collection, Royal Fairy Tale. This collection is evoked by the whimsy and romance of the tales we grew up with, sporting names like Palace Garden, Prince Charmer and The Queen’s Jewels. Sigh….. And after my first experience with Pomegranate, I was excited (and ready) to be blown away!
The first polish I have from this collection is Storm the Castle, a deep, cloudy teal-grey jelly. Storm is gorgeous!!! It is such a dark and dusty teal that it seems universally flattering. And application was amazing! It is a jelly, so was a little bit sheer on the first coat, but with a generous second coat, it evened out and provided the perfect amount of colour. All I kept thinking was, jelly sandwich, jelly sandwich, lol! I will need to try to sandwich this for sure, but here are two gloriously shiny coats without top coat!
Is that not amazing?? I also love how aptly this polish is named because the colour really reminds me of storms and turbulence.
On the completely opposite side of the spectrum, we have True Love’s Kiss. TLK is described as a silvery pink polish with a foil finish, but I found it to be more of a soft lavender shade. The foil finish reflects a lot of silver, while the tiny silver particles diffuse the light, making for a spectacular finish on the nail. TLK needed a steadier hand for application, as foil and metallic polishes tend to leave behind brush stroke marks, but made up for that with quick dry time!
Here are two gorgeous coats with base and top coat:
