What is your favourite type of clothing to wear when summer hits?
Sometimes it feels like we are waiting all winter for summer to arrive… then it is only three months long but feels like it flies by in just a couple of weeks! And for this exact reason, I have to really enjoy my summer makes as much as I can… and work on them earlier in the year so I can wear them when the temperature is just right! ????
Can we also work on adding some more me-time hours into each day?? ????
Some of my favourite summer items to make are tank tops and tees, although I am getting ready to make a dress for the first time! And I’m so excited to be drafting it up in one of my favourite Knit Pick yarns, one I’ve used before and love, called Comfy Worsted Yarn. This gorgeously soft yarn is composed of 75% Pima Cotton and 25% acrylic, making it easy to care for and light and lovely to wear. I previously designed my Drop It Tee in this yarn and I adore this top! (My Spring Fling Wrap was also created in Comfy Worsted.)
And can we talk about that gorgeous colour?? I’m forever holding back from ordering this colour again lol. (It’s called Silver Sage, by the way 😉 )
I cannot wait to share my beach dress pattern with you when it is ready! It is based on the Drop It Tee and will be so perfect for summer!
The other yarn I love to use in spring and summer is Knit Picks’ other cotton-blend, Shine Worsted Yarn composed of 60% Pima Cotton and 40% Modal (from natural beech wood fiber). The drape and comfort of this yarn is UNbelievable! My Spring Cable Tee, March Tee and Diamond Tee designs all use this yarn. Have you ever knitted with it?
As far as summer faves go, these tops can’t be beat. I already have a second Diamond Tee in the colour Cream and will probably make more easy wearables with Shine Worsted Yarn.
What’s your favourite of my designs?
And what’s your favourite Knit Picks yarn?

I just finished knitting your Drop It Tee. The pattern says that you have a video on YouTube showing how to accommodate the drop stitches. I can’t find it. Will you please post a link. Thanks!
Yay, I hope you love it as much as I love mine!!
Unfortunately I did not end up sharing this video but will work on one in the next few months. There are several videos out there if you search showing how to seam… including this one: https://youtu.be/UH50WQKqyXg
Hope this helps!
I just finished knitting your Drop It Tee. Love it! At the end of the directions, you say that you have a video on YouTube showing how to accommodate the drop stitches when seaming the sides. I can’t find it after many tries. Could you please send a link? Thanks so much.
