For someone who was never a winter person, I sure have been taking full advantage of the cold weather that we have been having by playing outside with my family. It’s been a pleasure to dress for the weather and be able to enjoy it more than I used to. Good thing I’ve made three Tuff Puff Beanies so far!
These gorgeous and squishy beanies (or touques if you’re from Canada, eh!) are the perfect antidote to Toronto’s January and February months. They’re perfect to take on the toboggan hill or to the outdoor skating rink. Easy and fast to knit up, I’ve received so many compliments on these adorable beanies. The hat looks a lot more intricate than it is to make (I promise), even for a cable novice. Never made anything with a cable pattern? Fear not. Grab your thick needles and cable needle, some Tuff Puff Yarn and get ready!
Note that this is the FLAT pattern for my Tuff Puff Beanie for anyone who would rather try making this hat flat rather than in the round. This way you don’t have to worry about finding a small circular needle. 🙂
How beautiful is Tuff Puff in the colour Snickerdoodle?

Cut yarn leaving a long tail, and with tapestry needle thread through 11 (11, 13) remaining stitches, pull to tighten and secure. Now use the same tail to seam the side of your beanie. Secure and weave in all ends.
Beanie is shown with KnitPicks Pom-Pom in 12 cm/4.7?. Pom-Poms are also available in neutral, pink, grey, or blue sets of three! I love them because you tie them into the beanie, and remove them before washing!
