Have you ever test knitted or test crocheted for a pattern designer?
A good friend of mine encouraged me to do so a few years ago, and I kind of brushed it off. I didn’t understand what the point was, other than getting to test a new pattern. Fast forward a few months when I participated in my first test knit for Lo Rain Knitwear, and I loved it! I learned some new skills such as combining knitting and crochet, as well as the tubular bind-off, and loved having the community of fellow test knitters to share thoughts and ideas with. And I found new makers to follow!
I’ve also been lucky enough to test knit for other amazing makers, including the lovely Jill from Knitterella, Knitwear by Joan, and most recently, Sabina from Caidree!
This month I joined Sabina’s test knit for her latest design, the Sugarboo Bralette in DK weight. If you have never knit a tank top, top-down, this is the pattern for you to learn!
I decided to stock up on Lionbrand’s Truboo Yarn from We Crochet – and what an enjoyable knit this has been using Truboo! The yarn is made from 100% bamboo yarn and is just delicate enough for a silky, skin-caressing bralette. I love that it possesses a subtle sheen and creates amazing drape… the yarn looks and feels so luxurious! I used the colour Slate – do you like it?
We Crochet now carries an amazing array of Truboo colours… I have Truboo in Scarlet, Mint and Light Pink…. I am thinking of picking up some more shades!
Have you worked with Truboo before and what did you make?
What’s your favourite KnitPicks yarn?
~xoxo, Aire
