Spring has Sprung with a March Tee!

**Psst, check out my Surprise June promo on Ravelry!**

Spring has finally arrived in the Northern Hemisphere, and with it, a celebration of a (another) New Year for those of us who celebrate Nowrooz at the Spring Equinox. Happy Nowrooz if this was you! Happy Spring, and happy warmer weather to all of us!

With the start of this beautiful weather comes a change in wardrobe for many of us… a change to layering pieces, light sweaters, and eventually, summer wear. If you are like me, you probably change your yarn craft products with the seasons. (Rarely will you see me make a warm, wool scarf until it’s cool and fall-like out!) When the weather starts to get warmer, I start to make summer shawls, sleeveless or summer tops, market bags, and anything else with a less-is-more-fabric quality. And in keeping with that sentiment, I have created a simple but striking knitted tee to share with you!

Introducing you to my March Tee!

This size-inclusive simple tee is composed of two rectangles (with the exception of the front neckline, which does require some shaping), and has the most beautiful, cool-feeling fabric. Made possible in collaboration with my friends at KnitPicks, the March Tee is made with KnitPicks Shine Worsted yarn, a 60% Pima Cotton, 40% Modal® (from natural beech wood fiber) blend. With an elegant sheen and beautiful soft drape, Shine is such a great yarn for spring-wear! If you haven’t worked with Shine Yarn, I promise, its buttery, soft texture will be a dream! I also utilized slightly bigger needles to give the March Tee a more loose effect, making it airy (but not see-through).

This loose-fitting tee has alternating garter rows to create a striped look. It looks casual and summery when worn alone with denim, but looks elegant and “boss-babe” when you throw on a blazer!! Woo!

I consider this mostly a beginner pattern; however, because of the rounded neckline shaping, it’s more beginner-intermediate level. I love that the March Tee can be altered to any length, even shorter for a cropped style, by adding or removing repeats – I love that you can personalize it! I’m forever adjusting patterns to make them more suitable for me, and I wanted to be able to offer this option to you.

This is a pattern I am very proud of. It’s my very first garment design, and it is size-inclusive, ranging from a 29″/74 cm bust to a 58″/147 cm bust. As I mentioned, the length can be adjusted to your preference, although I have made it just above hip/below dropped waist length in the pattern.

I hope you will love making my March Tee as much as I did!! I can’t wait to make multiple colours!

In honour of the launch of my first garment, I am offering you 25% off with coupon code 25MARCH on Ravelry as well as on Etsy! This coupon is valid until March 31, 2021. 🙂
