OPI Bond Girls

After the huge success of the OPI Skyfall collection last fall, OPI once again partnered with EON Productions, the company behind the Bond franchise, to launch another special edition set of polishes. The Bond Girls collection is made up of six new Liquid Sand™ nail lacquers featuring a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle fitting the allure surrounding the Bond Girls.  In hues of white, pink, blue, purple, gold and coral, Bond Girls offers a range of shimmering shades with the distinctive Liquid Sand finish.

“The six shades are named after some of the most iconic – and my favorite – Bond girls, including: Solitaire, Pussy Galore, Tiffany Case, Vesper, Honey Ryder and Jinx,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. “Worn without top coat, these Liquid Sand lacquers give nails a pebbled, matte finish worthy of the captivating ‘Bond Girls’ name.”

Today I bring you three of the gorgeous Bond Girls: Tiffany Case, Solitaire and Jinx!

Tiffany Case is a pale, icy metallic blue with silver glitter, and between the metallic finish and silver glitter, it is such a dazzling polish! I absolutely adore this shade of blue and LOVE the combination of the blue and silver glitter! I used two coats over base coat for the picture below. Only downside? Tiffany Case stains. Terribly.  I may try two coats of base coat next time because I am in love with this polish and would love to wear it again!

I decided to have some fun with Tiffany Case, so I applied a simple French tip with the gorgeous Solitaire. Solitaire is a pearly white base with fine silver glitter, and simply stunning:

The third polish for today is probably my favourite of the collection: Jinx. Jinx is a bright orange, coral shade with fine gold shimmer throughout, and the combination of orange and gold is spectacular! The texture of this polish reminded me the most of the Zoya Pixie Dusts – very, very fine sandy finish, and the gold dances within the orange, like a brightly burning ember in the flames:

The Bond Girls collection is superior to the original Liquid Sands, in my opinion, mainly because these are less grittier and contain finer particles of glitter. I found the Mariah Carey Liquid Sands to catch on things, which made me hesitant to wear them even though they were stunning… I couldn’t get over the “sharp” feeling on and around my nails. The Bond Girls Liquid Sand polishes remind me of Zoya’s Pixie Dust polishes, where, while slightly gritty, are highly wearable. The colour choices for Bond Girls are also beautiful!

Removal of the Liquid Sands is surprisingly easy. It is nowhere near as difficult as glitter removal, with no foil wraps needed. I held a soaked cotton ball over each nail for a few seconds, and the Liquid Sand wiped off. Much easier than glitter!
