If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’ll know that “nail art” is not something I venture into often. However, lately I have become obsessed with gradients – and not of the glitter variety like I normally wear!
I became inspired to try a nude-based gradient after having seen some gorgeous, unexpected combinations recently, and I really wanted to wear OPI’s My Vampire is Buff, the perfect bisque cream (see it here!). Deciding to try a brand-new shade, I chose Zoya Josie, from the Stunning Collection for Summer 2013.
Zoya Josie is a cool, light grassy-green cream shade, perfection in every sense as Zoya usually is. It’s a beautifully pigmented polish, providing perfect coverage on the first coat, self-leveling and shiny. I knew it would make a gorgeous gradient.
OPI’s My Vampire is Buff seems to be the go-to base shade for many nail art projects these days. Its bisque shade is much softer than white, and it is a beautiful nude, one of my favourites. I applied a generous coat of My Vampire is Buff over base coat and let it dry before starting my sponge-on gradient.
And here is the finished product, with a coat of FNUG’s IGEL top coat (have I raved about IGEL enough?):
Doesn’t it look so fresh, so summery?
I don’t often reach for green polish, but Zoya Josie is pure beauty!! The cream, the soft, almost-but-not-quite bright shade… what’s not to love!
Here is another shot, this time in the sun:
And one more, in the shade, because I can’t get enough of this gradient!
Order Zoya Josie directly from Zoya if you’re in the US, and get OPI’s My Vampire is Buff from Professional Salons and spas, or get both Zoya and OPI from Nail Polish Canada. Don’t forget to follow Zoya on Facebook and on Twitter for the latest and get more information on OPI from www.opi.com, or follow OPI on Twitter @OPI_PRODUCTS and become a Facebook fan!

Gorgeous! I just bought a few nude polishes (I couldn’t believe I didn’t have any!) and I’ll have to try this!
Thanks! That’s so funny, meanwhile, I buy every nude and nudey pink in the world… 🙂
I think I NEED Josie! You say it’s a one-coater?
It can totally be, if you apply more generously. I still like my two coats unless I’m doing something with it, like sponging overtop…
This is beautiful! I love Josie 🙂
Thanks Essie Rae!
Thanks so much!
Wow what a stunning gradient!! These colors are great together!!
Aw thanks so much!! They really do, don’t they? 🙂
