This weekend brings a brand-new collection from Nubar: the Eden collection, containing 8 gorgeous new hues!

Eden Eblast2 Eden Eblast1

Like all nubar products, the Eden Collection is free of formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP (phthalate), and is vegan and cruelty free. Nubar is available directly from Nubar’s online shop, from Nail Polish Canada, Harlow & Co. and other fine retailers.

Zoya Caitlin was one of the polishes I had my eye on for months… and kept convincing myself that I did not need. But it is a “greige” beauty, and I am sucker for anything grey!! Described by Zoya as a “smoky purple-tinged medium gray with smooth, opaque creme finish,” it truly is, a “sultry, mysterious and impossibly chic” shade. It is so chic, it was even suggested to be Michelle Obama’s nail polish at the Democratic National Convention in 2012!

Well needless to say, I finally buckled and brought Caitlin home.

Here are two gorgeous, easily applied, self-levelling coats of Caitlin:

Chic, work-appropriate and suitable to any skin colour, this grey-lavender beauty is one of those essentials that you need in your polish lineup!

After wearing Caitlin for a couple of days (and loving it!), I decided to add a quick French tip using Zoya Natty:

Zoya Natty is a smokey deep steel blue cream; gorgeous and shiny like all my Zoyas are!

Natty and Catlin are such gorgeous moody shades, non-season-specific and versatile. Caitlin makes a perfect palate cleanser if you’re tired of brights or glitters – neutral without being boring. And Natty is a highly-wearable blue shade with its steely base.

Do I love? I am obsessed!

What do you think of the coloured French mani look?

Get your Natty and Caitlin online from Zoya if you’re in the US, or via Nail Polish Canada. Don’t forget to follow Zoya on Facebook and on Twitter for the latest!

Hope you’re having a great long weekend so far if you’re in Canada!

I wanted to share with you a supercute and girly mani today… something simple but perfect for summer! The glitter polish I used was from Candeo Colors, a US-based indie brand that I’ve unfortunately not had a ton of experience with. I have worn only two other Candeos (see them here), both glittery, colourful polishes, and Zef is no different in that aspect.

Candeo Zef is a matte glitter polish. It is filled with small black, blue and pink matte hexes, medium pink matte squares and black hexes in a clear base with some matte large blue hex glitters. I simply love pink and black together! Throw in my favourite colour blue… well, this is a gorgeous bottle, let’s put it that way!

The base colour I used is one of my recent favourite pinks – Nicole by OPI’s Still into Pink, a truly outstanding hot pink lacquer that is also matte! (You must see this post, if you haven’t yet!) Still into Pink lights up when paired with shiny top coat, and Candeo Zef looked luminescent overtop!

Candeo Colors are available on Candeo’s website, and used to be available from Llarowe though I am not sure if she still has Zef. Don’t forget to follow Candeo Colors and Llarowe on Facebook!

I want to share a huge honour with you… I was recently contacted by one of the writers for, the Canadian arm of the digital magazine to be featured in a story about some of the best nail bloggers in Canada! is an online magazine for women, featuring stories ranging from health and beauty to love and style, and today’s article featured three Canadian nail bloggers – including me – and some of our nail art! 🙂

When it comes to manicures, gone are the days of boring single-colour nails and in is nail art you couldn’t imagine fitting on a nail let alone creating it yourself…(Source)

One of the cutest, most girly collections of the year was released by OPI recently – the new OPI Couture de Minnie Nail Lacquers collections. Minnie Mouse inspiration? Check. Pink and red? Check. Glitter? Check check!

And today I bring you three of these cuties to inspire your inner girly-girl!

Let’s see…. let’s start with the adorable bubble-gum pink Chic from Ears to Tail, a crelly (cream jelly) formula polish with a surprising lavender shimmer. This was the one I was most excited about, loving pink polishes as much as I do. Imagine my surprise when it applied amazingly well, even with the semi-sheer crelly formula (I am a sucker for jellies!), and had that almost invisible shimmer. I applied Chic carefully, not going over an area often as sheer polishes, especially in pale shades, can sometimes streak.

Here are two coats over base coat:

Is that not a gorgeous pink shade? Both summery and office-appropriate! Love!

Getting a few shades darker, A Definite Moust-Have is a hot fuchsia shade with a dusting of silver shimmer. The formula on this polish was amazing: a slightly thicker creme formula that provided full coverage on the first coat, it has a vibrant intensity. I used two coats over OPI’s base coat, no top coat:

If you click on the photo, you can see the hidden pearly finish within the light reflection. I am obsessed with this polish!

And finally, Minnie Style, the glitter bomb of the collection, a clear base filled with red, white and pink small hex glitters. A versatile glitter polish, I was impressed by Minnie Style. Though a bit on the thick side, you don’t have to dig for glitters and the polish disperses a good amount on each stroke.

Here is Minnie Style over Chic from Ears to Tail:

And over A Definite Moust-Have:

Finally, you know I couldn’t leave you without sandwiching some glitter! How adorable did this jelly sandwich with Chic from Ears to Tail, Minnie Style, and a coat of I Theodora You from OPI’s Oz Collection turn out?

This limited edition promotion is now available at Professional Salons for $10.95 CAN suggested retail for each nail lacquer. For more information, please call 800-341-9999 or visit Follow OPI on Twitter @OPI_PRODUCTS and become a Facebook fan!

Continuing on with the reveal of the brand-new line, today I bring you three more Colors by Llarowe lacquers by the store of the same name! (See Part 1 here!)

The first colour is probably one of my new favourites… Runt, from the Cheetoman & the Gang Collection, named after Leah Ann’s band of crazy kittens. This is a charity polish with proceeds going to the ASPCA – and if you know me, you know that I love nothing more than animals – so this is a polish close to my heart. Thank you, Leah Ann, for donating to animal charities. 🙂

Runt is a peach pink linear holo, almost pale enough to be called a near-nude (depending on your skintone). Runt is absolutely stunning!!!! The peach base is simply perfect for summer! I think this would also make a beautiful layering polish overtop of a peach or pink jelly…. I wanted to show you its true beauty, so here are three thin coats of Runt over A England’s base coat, and with a coat of FNUG Gel Top Coat. In the sun:

Look at that holo!!!! And is that not a beautiful pink? Application could not have been more perfect. A bit sheer on the first coat, but easily buildable, fluid, quick-drying. Love!

Even in the shade, Runt is spectacular: (by the way, this was pre-top coat!)

Colors_RuntShdCrazy shine and gorgeous colour. I think everyone needs a Runt in their lives!

Switching gears, the next shade is a much darker holo named Gizmo, also from the Cheetoman collection, and another ASPCA charity polish. This is a deep khaki linear holo, with incredible shine like the rest of the Colors by Llarowe polishes. Here are two coats of Gizmo in sunlight:

I am simply blown away by the holographic effects of these polishes!

Look at it in the shade – equally as gorgeous!

The third colour today is Her Eyes Shined, another charity polish from the two-polish collection that is very dear to Leah Ann. This collection, called “Missing You,” is dedicated to her mom and dad whom she lost to cancer and to kidney disease, respectively. Proceeds of this polish will benefit the National Kidney Foundation. Her Eyes Shined is  a turquoise green jelly base with turquoise and blue microglitters, with somewhat of a sheer base. This makes a perfect layering polish if you are looking for opacity!

I applied two thin coats of Her Eyes Shined over Gizmo:

Being a translucent glitter, this polish simply glows and sparkles!!

Here is a macro shot to show you the beautiful glitters (click on the pic to enlarge):

Her Eyes Shined reminded me of a Caribbean ocean… the deep green with the gorgeous blue sparkles… It has such depth and jelly squishiness. This polish is so very pretty in person!

Once again, I was really impressed by Llarowe’s new polish line. The holo on these was incredible, they were all super-shiny,  and application was a breeze. You must get your hands on these!

All of these polishes are 3-free and cruelty free, and come in a 15 ml square bottles. The future bottles after the initial launch will have those amazing soft-touch caps that we’ve come to love!

Head over to Llarowe to see what’s available! Don’t forget to follow Llarowe on Facebook, Pinterest and on Instagram!

So….which is your favourite so far?
