OPI Partners with Multi-Platinum International Superstar Mariah Carey to Launch Limited Edition Shades, Featuring the Revolutionary New Liquid Sand™ Nail Lacquers

OPI announces the launch of eight new limited edition shades inspired and hand-selected by multiple Grammy Award winning recording artist Mariah Carey. These shades include four new OPI Liquid Sand™ lacquers featuring groundbreaking technology for a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle.

OPI is extremely excited to work with Mariah,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “She’s very passionate about beauty and her nails in particular. Her music, which includes 18 Billboard No. 1 singles, served as a wonderful inspiration for glamorous, sultry, vibrant colors.

“To pay homage to her iconic status, we wanted to launch her collection with something completely new and exciting. OPI Liquid Sand nail lacquer offers a never-before-seen look with a pebbled finish that lightly shimmers with fine glitter particles. Worn without top coat, Liquid Sand lacquer gives nails a unique textured matte finish worthy of a superstar.”

Mariah Carey by OPI includes four Studio Shades – ranging from pink glitter to rich plum crème – and four Stage Shades – each featuring the new textured finish. Studio Shades include: A Butterfly Moment (This sophisticated and frosty tan nude has us all a-flutter), Sprung (Fall hopelessly in love with this shimmery copper), Pink Yet Lavender (This pink glitter with lavender shimmer has superstar shine!), and Anti-bleak (This deep, creamy purple will lift your spirits).

Stage Shades include: Stay the Night (Make it last in this matte black with red glints), Get Your Number (Wearing this matte blue with sparkles is a great call), Can’t Let Go (Hold onto this matte purple with dazzling sparkle), and The Impossible (This matte fuchsia with star confetti will never give up). OPI Liquid Sand lacquers should always be worn without top coat.

Mariah Carey by OPI nail lacquers contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application. This promotion will be available beginning January 2013 at Professional Salons and Spas for $10.95 suggested retail for each nail lacquer.

If you follow me on Facebook, you’ll know that I was waiting (and waiting…) for the Zoya Ornate Winter 2012/2013 Collection for what seemed like an eternity!! It just would not make its way north of the border to us! Thankfully, Nail Polish Canada finally announced it was on the site, at which point I dropped what I was doing and raced to the site to make my purchase!

I picked three from the Ornate Collection: Blaze, Storm and Aurora, and thanks to the good people over at Zoya’s Facebook page (and this darn beautiful picture), I also had to have Astra. (Can a girl not abide by her no-buys?? lol)

These polishes are JUST as stunning as I dreamed. They are amazing. Holographic and beautiful. The shine! I could go on and on…. they are perfection.

I started out with dark and beautiful Storm. These pictures don’t even do this polish justice. It looks like a vampy, creamy, shiny black in the shade, but the faintest hint of direct yellow light, and the scattered multi-colour holo surfaces. I wore Storm for a couple of days before deciding to venture into, gasp, nail art. Nail art is not something I am big on or try often… for me, nail art is a funky French mani or a jelly sandwich. 🙂 And for this reason, I had never tried striping tape, but I was getting really eager to get my hands on some. A lovely girl named Stephanie was so sweet– when she found out I did not have any, she actually sent me some!! (I have not seen striping tape anywhere locally!) So a huge thank you again, Stephanie!!

Here is my very first striped mani, about halfway through. I topped Storm with Aurora, one of the most spectacular purple holos ever:

Final result:

And here is the final result, on my other hand:

What do you think of my very first attempt at nail art?

The Zoya Ornate Collection is available directly from Zoya if you’re in the US, or Nail Polish Canada, and I’m not sure how long they’ll be there as they are hot… Don’t forget to follow Zoya on Facebook and on Twitter for the latest and more wallet-busting pictures like the one that inspired my Astra purchase. 🙂

COLOR + TOP COAT = ENDLESS CREATIVITY

China Glaze® Introduces Tranzitions Color Changing Collection

Los Angeles, CA – (November 2012): There’s nail art and then there’s China Glaze® nail couture.  Reverse French manicure, half moons, ombre, basket weave, dots or racing stripes: nail designs are intricate and multi-colored.  China Glaze® introduces a new way to get multi-color, unique nail art with fewer bottles of polish with the new color-changing Tranzitions collection!

China Glaze® Tranzitions’ revolutionary new nail lacquer reacts when a clear top coat is applied, changing the color from one shade to another for a stunning effect.  Wear any of the six beautiful, color-shifting shades alone, or allow your creativity to run wild and create intricate nail designs by applying a top coat all over or strategically.  Try different looks using nail art brushes, free-hand designs or nail guides.  Because each shade changes color, you get two lacquers in one, creating an entirely new look with just one swipe.

The China Glaze® Tranzitions collection features six shades, though with the color transition, you get 12 unique shades including:

Split Perso-NAIL-ity – Dusty pink shifts to fuchsia

Duplicityy – Mint green shifts to vibrant teal

Modify Me – Periwinkle blue shifts to indigo blue

Altered Reality – Teal blue shifts to turquoise

Metallic Metamorphosis – Silvery grey shifts to bluish-charcoal grey

Shape Shifter – Smokey violet shifts to dark purple

How It Works:
Step 1: Apply a base coat.
Step 2: Apply two coats of China Glaze® Tranzitions shade of choice.  Allow to completely dry.
Step 3: Lastly, apply one coat of clear top coat such as China Glaze® Fast Forward and watch the color change right before your eyes.

For more nail design ideas, view the China Glaze® Tranzitions video:

The China Glaze® Tranzitions collection will be available in January 2013 at fine salons and beauty supply stores.

China Glaze is free of DBP, toluene, and added formaldehyde, and is never tested on animals.

China Glaze nail lacquers are available through salons and professional beauty supply stores nationwide. For more information, please visit www.chinaglaze.com or follow China Glaze on Facebook, Twitter (@ChinaGlaze) and Pinterest.

OPI Announces the Launch of Euro Centrale for Spring/Summer 2013

Classic meets contemporary with Euro Centrale by OPI for Spring/Summer 2013. Celebrating a region where history meets modern design, the collection’s twelve new nail lacquers offer a mixture of glamorous metallic hues; playful bright shades in periwinkle, aqua and pink; and creamy blues in indigo, midnight and aubergine.

“Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Romania make up an exciting new fashion hotspot,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “When visiting these countries, you’ll view Gothic churches alongside vibrant graffiti murals, blending two very different aesthetics. This fusion of old and new was also seen in runway looks during New York Fashion Week, where classic styles were reinvented with modern silhouettes and patterns.

Euro Centrale boasts a wide variety of shades, ranging from pale nude to deep blue – and featuring everything from shimmering copper to aqua in between!,” continues Weiss-Fischmann. “Whether you’re looking to spice up a black and white print, or add neutrality to a vivid brocade, these lacquers are designed to accessorize spring’s hottest looks.”

Euro Centrale by OPI includes the following shades:

Continuing on from my Aphrodite Lacquers Spam post yesterday, here are the rest of the Printemps a Paris beauties!

Yesterday I showed you how stunning and pretty Fluerir, La Pluie, Nuages and Terre are… Let’s start today’s post with what I consider to be the centrepiece of the Printemps a Paris collection: Fete Champetre. Referring to Garden Party, Fete Champetre is truly a party in a bottle. A whitish lavender base with pinkish purple hidden shimmer, it is filled with multi-colour glitter used in the rest of this collection. Look at this fun and gorgeous bottle macro:

Here it is swatched:

That’s two coats on the index and middle fingers, and 3 coats on the other two. I previously reblogged Crystal’s Crazy Combos’ blog of this here – she won this stunning polish in my last giveaway! 🙂

Next up, beautiful Soleil, a milky white-pinkish base with the signature pink hidden shimmer of this collection, and dark pink, fuchsia, and red glitters. Below you see its shine and shimmer, even in the shade!

I have on two coats on the index and middle fingers again, with 3 coats on the ring and pinky.

Here is Soleil or Sun in beautiful sunlight:

It is such a girly and pretty polish!

Last but not least, Papillon, or Butterfly, a milky pale lavender base in a more purple hidden shimmer, with lavender and purple glitters.

I layered 3 coats on my pinky and ring fingers, while using 2 coats on the rest to show you how buildable these polishes are. Papillon looks a little whiter in the sunlight picture than in real life… it is a stunning, delicate beauty.

Overall, I adored this collection. As with all of Rebecca’s other amazing creations, this collection was cohesive, sharing a similarity across all seven polishes, yet allowing each colour to be a one-of-a-kind polish. And the best part? This was a fall collection released at the beginning of October! How different and fun to release such a pretty and pastel collection at a time when dark and moody polishes rule. Love!

This collection, along with the rest of the Printemps a Paris collection, is still available on Aphrodite’s Etsy shop! And don’t forget to follow on Facebook and Twitter for the latest Aphrodite news!

Which of the seven polishes did you like the best?

I have a slew of beautiful Aphrodite Lacquers polishes that I have been wanting to share, so I have broken it up into two spam posts… the first of which I bring you today!

For Fall 2012, Rebecca decided to take Aphrodite Lacquers in a different direction by releasing a gorgeous collection of whites and pastels, her favourite colours (some of mine too!) to contrast the deeps and darks generally preferred this time of year. This collection is called Printemps a Paris, and it is feminine, pretty, gorgeous. ❤  (See my previous posts here and here as well as a reblog of one of the gorgeous colours here.)

Here are a few of these stunning fall polishes for you to drool over 🙂

First up, Fluerier, previously posted for my first Go Pink Wednesday:

Aphrodite Lacquers describes this polish as a pastel pink base with pink hidden shimmer and  pink, lavender and fuchsia glitters. Gorgeous!

Up next, La Pluie…. a rainy, soft polish with a pastel blue base, blue hidden shimmer, and blue, silver, gunmetal glitters. Aptly named Rain in French:

Here I have on 2 coats on my index and middle fingers, and 2 coats over my new favourite white jelly, OPI’s Funny Bunny on the other two. See how buildable and gorgeous it is?

And then, Nuages, a gorgeous soft white jelly milky base with sky blue hidden shimmer, and aqua, silver and gunmetal glitters. Clouds, indeed:

Here, too, I layered 2 coats over OPI’s Funny Bunny on my first two fingers, with 2 coats of Nuages over a base coat on my ring and pinky. I love it both ways… and a third coat would have achieved the same look minus the undies.

Last but not least for today’s post, Terre (Earth), a soft pastel green base with green hidden shimmer, and yellow, moss green and emerald glitter. I didn’t think I would like Terre at first, but then you see it on, and wow. That shimmer… that softness… so squishy!

Check out the macro of it showing that gorgeous shimmer! (Feel free to click on the photo for a larger view.)

This collection, along with the rest of the Printemps a Paris collection, is still available on Aphrodite’s Etsy shop! And don’t forget to follow on Facebook and Twitter for the latest Aphrodite news!

Which one is your favourite so far?

Today I have for you a quick preview of one of Aphrodite Lacquers’ latest polishes: Make a Wish from the newly-released Birthday Collection!

Instead of going the usual “holiday” route and releasing a collection in green, red or gold, Rebecca, the amazing creator of Aphrodite Lacquers, has done something completely different and released a collection in honour of her impending December birthday. And that’s how the Birthday Collection was born!! With names like “The Icing on the Cake,” “It’s My Party,” “Never Too Old” and “Make a Wish,” this is a fun, gorgeous, birthday-ready collection!

Here’s a preview of Make a Wish, a delicate white jelly with silver glitter and a hidden silver shimmer.

Above I have two coats of Make a Wish on my index and middle fingers, and two coats over a coat of OPI’s Alpine Snow on my ring finger and pinky.

As with all my other Aphrodite Lacquers, I loved this polish. Application of all the jellies is perfect, and like the others, Make a Wish is a delicate, buildable polish.  You can wear it alone or for more pop, layer it over a white.

I will have more Birthday Collection reviews for you soon!

In the meantime, this polish is now available on Aphrodite’s Etsy shop, which just re-opened!
