Pomegranate Purples

Happy Friday!!

Hope you had a good week! Though I have to admit, for being a short week for us in Canada, it sure felt long… lol.

Let’s end the week with two stunning purples that are just perfect for the season, and you will love them. šŸ™‚

Last month Pomegranate Nail Lacquer released their Fall 2012 collection, seven gorgeous seasonal colours (with a couple of surprising bright beauties). As many of you who read my blog know, I adore the extremes in colour: vamps and pale whites or nudes. And today I bring you my very first Pomegranate experience with two more gorgeous vampy colours: Improv Show and Lust in the Library.

I LOVE the name “Lust in the Library!” It is so funny yet sexy. Pomegranate describes this polish as a rich and glossy eggplant creme. And that is spot-on. A perfect aubergine dream, I would dare call this a classic colour that every woman should own.

Shade

I mean, look at that rich, pigmented colour!! It was just gorgeous!

Lust flowed easily, and the formula was on the thinner side. Not thin in a bad way, but a slightly thinner formula that I was able to apply with a heavy hand for the first coat. It was self-leveling, dried quickly after the first coat, and gleamed with the high shine you see in the picture above. I used 2 coats over base coat — NO top coat!! And it was that shiny.

Here is another picture of Lust:

The picture in the sun is pretty colour-accurate. Lust is a very rich eggplant colour with a super-high shine. I did not expect these polishes to be this shiny.

Next up, a polish I think is the sister of Lust in the Library: Improv Show.

Improv Show is described as a dark purple polish “flecked with subtle blue and pink shimmer and silver sparkle to reflect the darkness of the theatre and the bright spotlights.” What a dreamy description. And what a dreamy polish. Improv is a bit vampier than Lust – it is a darker shade of purple yet sparkles in the light.

Shade

Improv Show, just like its sister polish, was a highly pigmented, rich, vampy colour that applied just as easily as Lust. I applied 2 coats (with a thicker first coat) over a base coat, and again, did not use a top coat so you could see just how shiny it is!! And that shimmer is incredible!!

Look at the shimmer in the sun:

I love how fine the tiny shimmer is, and how it sparkles in rainbow hues in the sun. You can really see the pink and blue shimmer in the sun picture above, and I love it. I think pink and blue are the perfect colours to dance within this rich, deep purple.

Overall, I was completely blown away by these Pomegranate beauties. As I mentioned, this was my very first time trying this brand, and the quality was amazing. You will definitely see more “Pom” on my blog in the future!

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer is 4-free (no toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) or camphor), made the USA, and not tested on animals. You can get your very own Lust in the Library and Improv Show here. Also, don’t forget to like their Facebook page for all the latest, and to follow Pomegranate on Twitter.

So which one of the two was your fave? And have you ever tried Pomegranate Nail Lacquer?
